‘Drum Money' Album Campaign

Project: Album Campaign (June 2023)
Services: Comms Strategy · Press Outreach · Cultural Placements · Release Week Coordination

Brick supported the release of Drum Money, the second album by Lagos-born, London-based producer and multidisciplinary artist Ekiti Sound—a genre-shifting project blending Afrobeat, electronica, and UK bass culture.

We delivered a targeted communications campaign designed to spotlight Ekiti’s cross-cultural narrative and innovative sound, balancing underground music platforms, arts media, and tastemaker coverage.

Strategic approach:
We focused on building a tailored story arc that centred Ekiti’s global influences and artistic evolution, crafting a campaign that felt as layered and genre-fluid as the album itself. Priority was given to culturally aligned press, editorial depth, and placements that offered space for storytelling beyond basic promo.

Key work included:

  • Strategic messaging and artist bio refinement

  • Targeted outreach across UK, US + international music press

  • Exclusive content placements (tracks, videos, premieres, interviews)

  • Playlist, radio and mix strategy aligned with key genre spaces

  • Coordination of BBC London interview during release week
